What are EM  ?

EM is the international abbreviation forEffective Microorganisms, in English Effective Micro-organisms

Effective Microorganisms (EM)   are bacteria, yeasts and other tiny organisms  present in the living world. They are found everywhere, in the air we breathe, in the water, in the soil, in our food, they are inside and outside all living organisms, in all our environment.

EMs are a very particular mixture of three main categories of natural micro-organisms  which act in synergy wherever there is organic matter :_cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

  • YEASTS which break down sugars and produce essential nutrients.

  • LACTIC BACTERIA which transform sugars into lactic acid, which by its acidity prevents pathogens from developing.

  • PHOTOSYNTHETIC BACTERIA help break down organic matter and gases that would otherwise give off a bad smell. They are also able to produce sugars from light.

What makes the difference between food scraps that rot or ferment are the  Effective Micro-organisms!

Where do EM  come from?

This ideal mixture was developed by le Teacher. Teruo HIGA from Okinawa University, in Japan and is distributed by EMRO Japan, which ensures its quality all over the world, in addition to donating a good part of its profits to research for more sustainable forms of agriculture in developing countries._cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

We recognize the original EM thanks to the logo

Some examples of using EM:

- against mold and dust mites

- improves water quality

- améliore la fertilité des sols, stimule la croissance des plantes et accroît_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_crop yield

- for the intestinal flora of animals and humans...

In Japan, birthplace of EM, many gardens are cultivated using these preparations which protect and regenerate the environment.

Micro-organisms created the atmosphere for life on earth... they are the origin of photosynthesis and of all organic and vegetable creatures. Moreover, they actually form almost 90% of the cells that make up our body, because we really only have about 10% of our own cells. Our body is actually an assembly of micro-organisms, a "unique and specific environment  influenced by what we eat and  the environment in which we live. ( See Jérémie Narby, author of books on living organisms.) EM probiotic technology is one more step towards sustainable development.

Microorganisms are on the boundary between light and matter, which explains some things, such as the impression that the environment becomes shiny when they are used for cleaning des houses.

There are 3 groups of microorganisms:
beneficial microorganisms (about 10%) are about as numerous as the group of harmful microorganisms (10%); the 3rd group which represents the largest proportion (about 80%) are neutral. In nature, a constant struggle takes place between beneficial microorganisms and harmful microorganisms, the neutral ones join the group of winners. If in a given environment, harmful micro-organisms have the upper hand (as is the case in a polluted or oxidized environment) it is not only 10% of harmful organisms but almost 90% which colonize the environment, because bacteria proliferate at a dizzying speed in the direction that is favorable to them.

From the biological point of view, their presence is essential, in a virgin and balanced nature, the different kinds of families of micro-organisms present are in perfect balance (the effective micro-organisms feed among other harmful micro-organisms) but in an environment as oxidized as ours (pollutants, acid rain, human management of the environment, selected plants, not to mention synthetic pesticides and fertilizers) beneficial micro-organisms have almost disappeared from our immediate environment. Professor Teruo Higa discovered that by bringing together 80 types of beneficial microorganisms present in different environments and introducing this mixture of bacteria, yeasts and other microorganisms into a diseased and oxidized environment, the vital balance is restored to tend again towards a dynamic and harmonious balance of vital processes.

These beneficial, useful, efficient microorganisms,  EM,   are grown from fermented plants and preserved in stock solution. By activating them using cane sugar molasses (the best known activator) we obtain the EMa probiotics activated solution ready to be distributed in the environment (on the meadows, in the vegetable garden, the orchard, the ponds ... ) but also inside houses, because it is a remarkable sanitizer.

EM does not represent any danger for the environment, neither for human beings nor for fauna. On the contrary, EM bacteria destroy substances that cause putrefaction, bad odors, diseases, eliminating the pathogenic microbes
